Manage a complex caseload of Child Protection, Looked After Children, and court cases for Durham County Council, ensuring all statutory duties are met and that children’s safety and wellbeing remain the highest priority.

Provide professional support, mentoring, and informal supervision to social workers and students, promoting reflective, strengths-based, and child-centred practice.

Undertake and oversee detailed assessments and outcome-focused care plans, ensuring children’s voices are central to all planning and interventions.

Prepare and quality-assure high-level reports for child protection conferences, Looked After reviews, and legal proceedings, ensuring compliance with legal and practice standards.

Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to coordinate effective safeguarding and support strategies.

Contribute to service development through participation in audits, reflective learning sessions, and improvement initiatives across Durham County Council’s Children’s Services.
