Carry out statutory duties for Southampton City Council under the Children Act 1989 and 2004, supporting children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children processes.

Manage a diverse caseload, undertaking timely assessments and developing care plans that are strengths-based, outcome-focused, and responsive to the child’s needs.

Build positive, trusting relationships with children and families, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all assessment, planning, and decision-making.

Prepare clear, analytical, and evidence-based reports for court proceedings, child protection conferences, and looked after reviews.

Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals across education, health, and early help services to coordinate effective interventions.

Participate in regular supervision, training, and reflective practice to maintain high standards of social work and contribute to service development within Southampton City Council’s Children’s Services.
