Take a lead role in managing complex and high-risk cases for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, including child protection, care proceedings, and looked after children, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks.

Provide advanced professional support, mentoring, and guidance to social workers, students, and newly qualified staff, promoting best practice and continuous professional development.

Conduct high-quality, analytical assessments and develop robust, child-centred care plans that reflect the voice and needs of the child.

Prepare and oversee court documentation, ensuring evidence-based, timely, and legally sound submissions for care proceedings and case reviews.

Lead on quality assurance activities such as case audits, peer reviews, and practice development workshops to improve team performance and outcomes for children.

Work closely with multi-agency partners to coordinate safeguarding responses, early intervention strategies, and permanency planning across children’s social care.
