Take the lead on complex and high-risk cases for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, including child protection, court proceedings, and looked after children, ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice.

Provide professional expertise, mentoring, and support to less experienced social workers, promoting reflective supervision and ongoing skills development.

Conduct thorough, strengths-based assessments under the Children Act 1989, ensuring effective planning and timely intervention that prioritises children’s safety and wellbeing.

Prepare and oversee court documentation and reports for child protection conferences, permanency planning, and statutory reviews.

Contribute to service improvement through participation in case audits, quality assurance activities, and the development of best practice models.

Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to coordinate safeguarding responses and ensure integrated support for children and families.
