Adults Social Worker – Mental Health Team
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adults Social Worker to join a dedicated Mental Health Team. This locum position offers the opportunity to support adults with mental health needs, undertaking statutory social work duties and delivering person-centred interventions that promote independence, recovery and wellbeing.
You will manage a caseload of adults with mental health challenges, working closely with service users, carers and multidisciplinary professionals to assess needs, develop support plans and ensure positive outcomes through strengths-based practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of adults within the Mental Health Team.
- Complete Care Act assessments, reviews and person-centred support planning.
- Work directly with adults experiencing mental health challenges to identify strengths and promote independence.
- Undertake risk assessments and safeguarding enquiries where required.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, carers and partner agencies to coordinate effective support.
- Maintain accurate case records, assessments and reports in line with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and deliver high-quality adult social work practice.
About You
You are a qualified Adults Social Worker with experience working within a Mental Health Team or supporting adults with mental health needs. You have excellent assessment and communication skills, a strong understanding of adult social care legislation and are committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based practice.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and its statutory guidance.
- Experience working with adults experiencing mental health challenges.
- Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
- A proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Contract & Salary
Job Title: Adults Social Worker – Mental Health Team
Job Type: Locum
Contract Length: 3 months
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Working Pattern: Hybrid working, with approximately 40% office attendance required.
Pay Rate: £32.00 per hour (Umbrella).
Equipment: Laptop and essential equipment provided.
