Specialist Physiotherapist – Band 6

Job Overview

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for a Specialist Physiotherapist – Band 6 to join Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, based at Worthing or Southlands. This is an ongoing locum opportunity within the Sussex NHS area.

The successful Physiotherapist will provide specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy assessment and treatment, supporting patients to improve function, manage symptoms and achieve their rehabilitation goals. Previous MSK experience is essential, ideally within an NHS setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for patients presenting with musculoskeletal conditions.
• Develop appropriate, evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
• Provide specialist MSK physiotherapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans where required.
• Provide appropriate advice and education to support self-management and functional recovery.
• Work autonomously while maintaining effective communication with the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS requirements.
• Work in accordance with professional standards, clinical governance and relevant NHS policies.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist with a strong background in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. NHS MSK experience is ideally required, and you should be confident managing a varied caseload independently.

You will have strong clinical assessment, reasoning and treatment skills, together with the ability to develop patient-centred rehabilitation plans. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care are essential.

Requirements

• Qualified Physiotherapist with relevant professional registration.
• Previous experience working as a Physiotherapist at Band 6 level or equivalent.
• Strong MSK Physiotherapy experience.
• MSK experience within an NHS setting is ideally required.
• Experience assessing and treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a clinical caseload effectively.
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and evidence-based physiotherapy practice.

Working Hours

The role is offered Monday to Friday, with shifts running from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
