Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity within Surrey NHS. Based at the specialist Remeo Unit, East Surrey Hospital, part of Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, this role offers the opportunity to work within a complex rehabilitation and acute care environment.

 

The successful candidate will provide high-quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to patients with complex medical and respiratory needs. A key aspect of the role will involve managing ward-based respiratory patients and supporting rehabilitation programmes designed to maximise recovery, function, and independence.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessments of patients within an acute and rehabilitation setting.
  • Provide respiratory physiotherapy assessment and treatment, including ward-based chest management.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based rehabilitation programmes tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Support patients with complex medical and respiratory conditions to maximise recovery and functional independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support rehabilitation goals and discharge planning.
  • Provide advice and education to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality physiotherapy service within the specialist unit.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care at all times.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Physiotherapist with a strong background in acute hospital physiotherapy and confidence managing patients requiring respiratory assessment and intervention.

 

You will be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary environment, managing complex caseloads, and delivering high-quality rehabilitation and respiratory care. Experience in ward-based chest physiotherapy is essential for this role.

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Previous acute hospital physiotherapy experience.
  • Experience assessing and treating ward-based respiratory patients.
  • Competence in chest physiotherapy and respiratory management.
  • Strong rehabilitation and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Available to commence the assignment in early July.
