Physiotherapist – Band 6 (Locum)

Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at Aintree Hospital, within the Merseyside NHS. This locum role sits within the inpatient therapy service and focuses on providing Respiratory physiotherapy cover. You will support both ward-based and on-call respiratory needs, contributing to high-quality patient care across acute and critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities

•   
  • Deliver respiratory physiotherapy interventions for inpatients, including those requiring chest physiotherapy.
     

  • Provide competent respiratory assessment and treatment at both ward and on-call levels.
     

  • Support increased demand for chest physiotherapy across acute and critical care areas.
     

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and timely care.
     

  • Contribute to safe, proactive discharge planning where appropriate.
     

  • Maintain accurate and professional clinical documentation in line with HCPC and Trust standards.

   

  About You

   

  You are a highly skilled Physiotherapist with strong experience in respiratory care across acute hospital settings. You are competent in delivering chest physiotherapy at ward and on-call level and have experience working within Critical Care. Your clinical reasoning, communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment will support high-quality respiratory care delivery.

  Requirements

  •  
    • Degree in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration.
       

    • Significant experience in respiratory physiotherapy.
       

    • Chest physiotherapy competence at both ward and on-call levels.
       

    • Experience providing respiratory care within Critical Care settings.
       

    • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
