As a Team Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality social care services. You will provide professional supervision, leadership, and guidance to your team, ensuring that all work is compliant with statutory responsibilities and driven by a child-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex casework and ensure timely, evidence-based decision-making in line with statutory duties.
  • Provide regular supervision and mentoring to staff, fostering a culture of professional development, accountability, and reflective practice.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to deliver integrated, multi-agency support for children and families.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation, policies, and procedures relating to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Lead team meetings, contribute to service planning, and support performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the service in multi-agency forums and panels, promoting effective communication and partnership working.

About You

You are an experienced, confident, and motivated leader with a strong understanding of children’s social care. You combine excellent people management skills with sound professional judgment and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families.

You’ll be proactive, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Your communication and relationship-building skills will be key to supporting your team and promoting collaborative, child-focused practice across the service.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Extensive post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care, including recent management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation and statutory frameworks relating to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Proven ability to lead, support, and develop a team of social workers in a complex and challenging environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in multi-agency working and promoting effective partnership approaches.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
