Team Manager – Adults’ Services (Bradford Metropolitan District Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced **Team Manager (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role involves leading a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred social care for adults across the district.

You will combine operational management with professional leadership, supporting staff, overseeing complex cases, and ensuring services comply with statutory duties and safeguarding responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff within Adults’ Services.

Oversee complex casework, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.

Provide reflective supervision, mentoring, and professional development support to team members.

Monitor caseloads, performance, and quality of practice to ensure effective service delivery.

Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.

Prepare and present reports for panels, reviews, and senior management.

Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary and community organisations to deliver integrated care.

Contribute to audits, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement within Adults’ Services.

About You

You are an experienced social worker with strong leadership skills and a track record in adults’ social care. You are confident in supervising staff, managing performance, and overseeing complex safeguarding work. Your communication and decision-making skills enable you to deliver high-quality, person-centred outcomes.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
