Lead and manage a children’s social work team within Middlesbrough Council, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective services across Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children cases.
Provide clear leadership, professional guidance, and performance management to social workers and practitioners, promoting reflective practice and high standards of service delivery.
Oversee complex and high-risk cases, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and that interventions are timely, proportionate, and centred on the child’s needs.
Chair multi-agency meetings, including strategy discussions, planning meetings, and case reviews, supporting effective partnership working and decision-making.
Monitor team performance against service targets and contribute to continuous improvement through audits, supervision, and workforce development initiatives.
Support service planning and development, embedding Middlesbrough Council’s values and priorities in all aspects of team management and frontline practice.
