Southwark Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead an Adult Social Care team. This role is responsible for overseeing frontline social work practice, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality assessments, safeguarding interventions, and support planning in line with the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. The postholder will be expected to provide clear leadership, operational oversight, and staff supervision to drive excellent outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, and support a team of qualified social workers, ensuring caseloads are managed effectively and practice standards are met.
Monitor and manage team performance, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities, policies, and KPIs.
Provide professional guidance and decision-making support on complex cases, including safeguarding, MCA, and DoLS.
Collaborate with internal and external partners, including health, housing, and community organisations.
Drive service improvements through reflective supervision, audit, quality assurance, and staff development.
