Band 6 Locum Paediatrics Speech and Language Therapist

Job Title: Highly Specialist / Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Band 6

Location: Provide Community – Essex (Chelmsford)

Contract Length: 6 months

Job Details: Specialist / Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist required to travel across Mid Essex. The role will include lone working within schools and homes.

•  
  • Assess children and young people’s communication needs
     

  • Deliver targeted intervention for phonology, language, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), and a range of speech and language difficulties (excluding dysphagia)
     

  • Write termly care plans and contribute to wider care documentation
     

  • Band 7 SLT to contribute to Tribunal process reports where required
     

  • Provide clinical support and guidance to lower band SLT team members as appropriate

   

  Essential Skills/Experience:

   

  •  
    • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience (for Band 6 level)
       

    • Experience working with children and young people with speech and language difficulties, autism and special educational needs
       

    • Ability to work independently, including lone working
       

    • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for travel across Mid Essex
       

    • Experience with Systm1 desirable, or willingness to be trained

     

    Working Hours: Part time or Full time. Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 17.00 (flexibility around school hours may be considered).
