Brief Job Overview

Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists are required to support school-aged children across mainstream primary schools and special schools in Inner London. This community schools-based role involves travelling between school settings to deliver assessment, intervention, and communication support to children and young people aged 3–19.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

  •  
    • Provide speech and language therapy assessment and intervention within school settings.
       

    • Support children in mainstream primary schools and special schools.
       

    • Travel between schools throughout the day to deliver sessions.
       

    • Update parents and teaching staff on progress and recommendations.
       

    • Complete clinical documentation and update SystmOne with appointment outcomes.
       

    • Maintain internal service reporting including spreadsheets, data capture forms, and daily reporting requirements.
       

    • Liaise with education staff and other professionals to support integrated care.

     

    About You

    You will be an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with a background in school-based practice. You will be confident managing your own caseload, working across multiple settings, and communicating effectively with children, families, and school staff.
     

    Requirements

     

    •  
      • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
         

      • Current HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
         

      • Minimum 2 years’ paediatric SLT experience.
         

      • Experience working within school settings.
         

      • Dysphagia experience.
         

      • Strong organisational and communication skills.

       

      Working Pattern

       

      •  
        • Monday to Friday
           

        • 09:00 – 17:30 (9-hour days)
           

        • Time allocated after school hours for documentation, meetings, and reporting
