Location: Surrey and Sussex Healthcare – East Surrey Hospital

Area: Surrey NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

About the Role

 

East Surrey Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Acute Therapy team. The successful applicant will have experience working in either adult or paediatric acute settings and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality speech and language therapy services within a fast-paced clinical environment.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and intervention within an acute hospital setting.
  • Manage a varied caseload in either adult or paediatric acute care, depending on experience.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective patient care.
  • Contribute to care planning, risk management and discharge planning as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Acute clinical experience within adult or paediatric services (essential).
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning and MDT working skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.

 

Working Hours

 

  • 3–5 days per week.
  • No weekend or out-of-hours working.
