About the Role
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the acute adult service. This role is based on the acute wards and focuses on delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and treatment to adult inpatients on acute wards.
- Undertake comprehensive dysphagia assessments and management for adult patients.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and care plans.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Proven experience in adult dysphagia management (essential).
- Experience working within an acute hospital setting.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and MDT working skills.
- Ability to manage an independent caseload.
Working Hours
- Full time: 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
- Flexible working considered.
- Part-time hours may be considered.
