Speech and Language Therapist – Band 6
Brief Job Overview / Introduction to Role
We are recruiting a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult SLT service at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. This locum role is for 8 weeks and involves providing specialist speech and language therapy across community outpatient clinics, patients’ homes, residential homes, and nursing homes.
Key Responsibilities
– Deliver specialist speech and language therapy as an autonomous practitioner within the Adult SLT service. – Work with clients across multiple settings, including community outpatient clinics, patients’ homes, residential homes, and nursing homes. – Liaise with stakeholders and demonstrate the efficacy of therapy services through audits and reporting. – Collaborate with and access support from other SLTs and members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT). – Maintain accurate records and provide updates on client progress.
About You
– You are an experienced Speech and Language Therapist able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. – Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues. – Organised and able to manage a caseload across multiple settings. – Committed to evidence-based practice and delivering high-quality client outcomes.
Requirements
– Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration. – Experience working as an SLT within adult services. – Ability to work independently and manage caseloads efficiently. – Experience in community and residential care settings is advantageous. – Available to work 37.5 hours per week for the duration of the 8-week locum.
Contract & Salary
– Location: Clayponds Hospital or Ealing Day Treatment Centre, West London – Salary: £negotiable – Job Type: Locum, 8-week contract – Hours: 37.5 hours per week
