Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a qualified and experienced Band 8a Speech and Language Therapist to provide specialist services across inpatient, community, and acute general medical settings. This senior role focuses on Best Interest Assessments (BIA) and the management of complex communication and swallowing needs, offering opportunities for clinical leadership, service development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Lead and undertake comprehensive assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties.
Oversee and contribute to Best Interest Assessments (BIA), ensuring patient-centred, ethical, and legally compliant decision-making.
Develop and implement strategic treatment plans and rehabilitation programmes to optimise patient outcomes.
Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, high-quality care and facilitate discharge planning.
Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior therapists, assistants, and students.
Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives, supporting the strategic growth of speech and language therapy services.
