Job Title: Principle Adult Speech and Language Therapist – Band 8a Area: South London NHS Salary: £negotiable Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: Speech and Language Therapist required to start asap for 12 weeks. This post needs an experienced SALT with clinical experience of Adult patients who have dysphagia (swallowing), and communication problems – long term conditions e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, ideally experience of managing staff would also be helpful. As a Principal SLT level to assess, treat and discharge adult clients referred with communication and
swallowing difficulties, specifically those with log with long term conditions, for example MND, Dysfluency in the main Croydon University Hospital Out-patient area and Community Adult SLT Teams.
To hold an overview of the speech and language therapy needs of this population in Croydon and to
develop skills and knowledge in order to become a source of expertise in this field for the service and for other colleagues working in the field.
To liaise closely with the other agencies involved with this client group and others, including patients with progressive disorders to work as a member of the team, providing an efficient, effective and coordinated Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service.
