Senior Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bromley Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced **Senior Social Worker (Qualified Social Worker – QSW)** to join the **Bromley Council Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on managing complex casework, safeguarding adults, and providing professional guidance to colleagues to ensure high-quality, person-centred practice.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead on complex safeguarding cases, contribute to service development, and support less experienced staff while working collaboratively with adults, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on complex safeguarding and adult protection cases.
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
Provide mentoring, guidance, and informal support to junior and newly qualified social workers.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.
Work directly with adults, families, and carers to promote safety, independence, and wellbeing.
Collaborate with health services, housing, and voluntary organisations to deliver integrated support.
Ensure case records are accurate, timely, and compliant with legislation and Bromley Council policies.
Contribute to reflective supervision, team learning, and continuous service improvement.
About You
You are a motivated and resilient social worker with significant post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are skilled in managing complex cases, safeguarding practice, and supporting colleagues while maintaining a person-centred approach.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Extensive post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services.
Proven ability to manage complex safeguarding and adult protection cases.
Experience of mentoring, coaching, or supporting less experienced colleagues.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
