Senior Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bradford Metropolitan District Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced **Senior Social Worker (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role combines complex case management with professional leadership, ensuring adults are safeguarded, supported, and empowered to live fulfilling and independent lives.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead on high-risk cases, provide mentoring and guidance to colleagues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Adults’ Services.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.
Provide supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice support to social workers and support staff.
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review individualised care and support plans.
Carry out best-interest decisions and contribute to legal proceedings where required.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court.
Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing services, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver joined-up care.
Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Support audits, quality assurance, and continuous service development within Adults’ Services.
About You
You are a resilient and motivated social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are confident managing complex safeguarding cases and able to provide guidance and leadership to colleagues.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Extensive post-qualification experience in Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
Proven ability to support, mentor, or supervise colleagues.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a demanding caseload alongside leadership responsibilities.
