Senior Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bradford Metropolitan District Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced **Senior Social Worker (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role combines complex case management with professional leadership, ensuring adults receive high-quality, person-centred support and safeguarding interventions.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will work directly with adults and their families, lead on complex safeguarding cases, and provide professional support and guidance to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.
Provide supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice support to social workers and support staff.
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review tailored care and support plans that promote independence and wellbeing.
Carry out best-interest assessments and contribute to legal proceedings where required.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court.
Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver coordinated care.
Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
Support service audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within Adults’ Services.
About You
You are a confident and resilient social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You can manage complex safeguarding cases while providing professional support and guidance to colleagues.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Extensive post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Proven experience of mentoring, supervising, or supporting colleagues.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to balance a demanding caseload with leadership responsibilities.
