Join Newcastle City Council as a Senior Social Worker to lead on complex statutory assessments and interventions under the Children Act 1989/2004, ensuring timely and effective safeguarding responses.
Develop, implement, and review child-centred care and protection plans that promote safety, stability, and positive long-term outcomes for children and young people.
Manage a complex caseload involving high-risk and court proceedings, while offering professional guidance, mentoring, and support to newly qualified and less experienced social workers.
Take a lead role in multi-agency safeguarding work, including Section 47 enquiries, strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and legal proceedings.
Promote collaborative working across agencies including education, health, police, and the voluntary sector to ensure coordinated, wraparound support for vulnerable children and families.
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with Social Work England requirements and Newcastle City Council policies, contributing to service quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
