The London Borough of Hackney is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join its OT and Sensory Service. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to contribute to a specialist service supporting people with occupational therapy and sensory needs within an adult social care setting.

The successful candidate will use their professional Occupational Therapy expertise to undertake assessments, provide appropriate advice and support, and contribute to person-centred outcomes. The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week required at Hackney Service Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior Occupational Therapy input within the OT and Sensory Service.
• Complete comprehensive assessments to identify individuals’ occupational, functional and sensory needs.
• Provide appropriate Occupational Therapy advice, recommendations and interventions based on individual needs.
• Support individuals to maximise independence, safety and participation in everyday activities.
• Consider appropriate equipment, adaptations and other support where required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and relevant professionals to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
• Apply professional clinical reasoning and evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice.
• Manage an allocated caseload effectively and prioritise work according to service needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely professional records in line with service requirements.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality Occupational Therapy and Sensory Service.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills. You will be comfortable working autonomously while also contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary service.

You will have a person-centred approach and be able to assess individual needs, provide professional advice and identify appropriate interventions and support. Experience within adult social care, sensory services or a similar community-based setting would be valuable.

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Relevant experience as an Occupational Therapist, with senior-level experience desirable.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and professional decision-making skills.
• Experience working with individuals with complex or varied needs.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage an allocated caseload.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Ability to contribute to a specialist OT and Sensory Service.
• Ability to work within a hybrid arrangement, with a minimum of 2 days per week at the service.
