The London Borough of Hackney is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join its Reablement service. This is an opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to contribute to person-centred rehabilitation and reablement, supporting individuals to maximise their independence and achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will work within a hybrid arrangement, with a minimum of two days per week required within the service. This role would suit an Occupational Therapist with strong experience who is confident working within adult social care and reablement environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy input within the Reablement service.
• Complete appropriate Occupational Therapy assessments to identify individuals’ needs, strengths and goals.
• Develop person-centred interventions that support independence and maximise functional ability.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and relevant professionals to support positive outcomes for service users.
• Apply professional Occupational Therapy knowledge and clinical reasoning to complex situations.
• Contribute to effective reablement planning and review interventions as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely professional records in line with service requirements.
• Work autonomously while contributing effectively to the wider team.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with a strong understanding of reablement and adult social care. You will be able to work autonomously while maintaining a collaborative approach and will be committed to supporting individuals to maximise their independence.

You will have strong assessment, communication and professional decision-making skills, together with the ability to manage your workload effectively within a busy service environment.

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Relevant experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally within adult social care and/or reablement.
• Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary service.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work within a hybrid arrangement with a minimum of 2 days per week as required.
