Occupational Therapy Team Leader (Locum)

 

Location: Leicester City Council

Area: East Midlands Social Services

Rate: Up to £37 per hour (umbrella)

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

Hours: Full time – 37 hours per week

 

Role Overview

 

An experienced Occupational Therapy Team Leader is required to lead an Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy service within Leicester City Council. This is a senior locum opportunity for a confident leader who can support, supervise and drive performance within a busy local authority setting.

 

The role requires a hybrid working approach, with 2–3 days per week office-based, depending on service need.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide decisive and effective leadership to Occupational Therapy teams in line with the Council’s Vision, Values and Leadership Qualities.
  • Enable high levels of individual and organisational performance.
  • Provide professional supervision to Occupational Therapy staff.
  • Plan, allocate and review workloads to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
  • Manage priorities and support staff to meet performance standards.
  • Implement, review and improve systems and procedures to enhance departmental performance.
  • Support continuous service improvement within Adult Social Care.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Significant experience within Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong organisational, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
