About the Role
North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) is seeking an experienced Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapist to join the Integrated Health Team in Redbridge. This community-based role focuses on delivering high-quality rehabilitation to patients with new stroke diagnoses, supporting recovery and maximising independence within the community.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a complex community caseload, delivering detailed occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based treatment programmes.
- Provide specialist rehabilitation for patients following new stroke diagnoses in line with current stroke rehabilitation guidelines.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient-centred goals.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and joint working with patients, carers and professionals to optimise rehabilitation outcomes.
- Assess, recommend and order appropriate equipment to maximise independence and improve quality of life.
- Contribute to the ongoing management of patients with complex functional needs within the borough.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Trust and HCPC standards.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Significant experience working in community rehabilitation within the NHS.
- Demonstrable experience in stroke rehabilitation, particularly within community settings.
- Strong knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation guidelines.
- Experience in equipment provision to support independence and quality of life.
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning and MDT working skills.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday.
- Shift pattern: 09:00 – 17:00.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 7 OT to contribute specialist stroke rehabilitation expertise within a well-established community integrated health team.
