Location: East London NHS Foundation Trust – North Bedfordshire Therapy Service, Bedford

Rate: £Negotiable

About the Role

 

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Band 6 Community Occupational Therapist to join the Rehabilitation and Enablement Team within the North Bedfordshire Therapy Service. This locum role is initially for 3 months and involves delivering high-quality community-based assessment and rehabilitation to adults with varied and often complex needs.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment, advice and evaluation for clients with a range of physical and psychological conditions, including complex and neurological presentations.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary, community-based service to support rehabilitation, self-management and independence across the continuum of care.
  • Act as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with HCPC regulations, managing your own caseload effectively.
  • Support the management structure by delivering high standards of practice and contributing to service excellence.
  • Supervise, teach and assess occupational therapy students, ensuring practice meets university and professional standards for degree-level training.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC requirements.

 

Requirements

 

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in community rehabilitation and enablement services.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills, particularly in managing complex and neurological conditions.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multi-professional team.
  • Experience supervising students at graduate level is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and caseload management skills.

 

Working Hours

 

  • Full-time hours.
