Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join the healthcare team at HMP Isle of Wight. This role involves delivering high-quality mental health care to individuals within the prison setting, supporting their psychological well-being, and managing a range of complex mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist mental health assessments, interventions, and risk management plans.
Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.
Support individuals with a wide range of mental health conditions, including severe and enduring illnesses.
Administer medication and manage care plans in accordance with best practices.
Offer crisis intervention and therapeutic support.
Liaise with prison staff, external agencies, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements:
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration.
Experience working in mental health services, preferably in secure or prison settings.
Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Enhanced DBS clearance and prison security clearance (or willingness to obtain).
