Theatre Nurse – Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & More – Cheltenham
Position: Theatre Nurse (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating)
Location: Cheltenham
Pay Rates:
- Weekday: £26 per hour
- Nights & Saturdays: £32 per hour
- Sundays & Bank Holidays: £40 per hour
Contract Length: Full-time, minimum 3 months (potential for extension)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for skilled Theatre Nurses to join a dynamic surgical team in Cheltenham. Whether your expertise lies in Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, or Circulating, we want to hear from you!
You will be an integral part of the theatre team, working alongside surgeons, anaesthetists, and ODPs to deliver outstanding perioperative care across various specialities, including general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, ENT, and vascular procedures.
This role is perfect for experienced theatre practitioners who thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
? Scrub Nurse – Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
? Anaesthetic Nurse – Support patients and anaesthetists during pre-operative and intra-operative stages.
? Recovery Nurse – Monitor patients post-surgery, ensuring safe recovery from anaesthesia.
? Circulating Nurse – Manage equipment, supplies, and patient safety within the operating theatre.
? Surgical First Assistant (SFA) – Provide direct surgical support, including tissue handling and wound closure.
? Ensure compliance with infection control, theatre safety, and clinical governance standards.
? Work within a multi-disciplinary team, adapting to a variety of surgical specialities.
Requirements:
? NMC Registration (or HCPC for ODPs)
? Minimum 1 year of experience in a Theatre Nurse role (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, or Circulating)
? Strong understanding of infection control, sterile field maintenance, and surgical protocols
? Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
? Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills
