Theatre Nurse – Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & More – Bath

Position: Theatre Nurse (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating)

Location: Bath

Pay Rates:

  • Weekday: £26 per hour
  • Nights & Saturdays: £32 per hour
  • Sundays & Bank Holidays: £40 per hour

Contract Length: Full-time, minimum 3 months (potential for extension)


Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Theatre Nurses to join a dynamic surgical team in Bath. This role is open to professionals specialising in Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating, or Surgical First Assistance. You will be providing essential support for a variety of surgical specialities, including orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, gynaecology, ENT, and more.

This is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled and adaptable theatre nurses looking to work in a fast-paced, patient-centred environment.


Key Responsibilities:

? Scrub Nurse – Assist in surgical procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring a sterile operating field.
? Anaesthetic Nurse – Work alongside anaesthetists to manage patient sedation, airway support, and pain relief.
? Recovery Nurse – Monitor patients post-surgery, managing pain control and post-anaesthesia care.
? Circulating Nurse – Support theatre teams by preparing equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and liaising with staff.
? Surgical First Assistant – Work closely with surgeons, assisting with tissue handling, exposure, and wound closure.
? Ensure strict infection control protocols and compliance with all perioperative care standards.
? Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and theatre staff to ensure smooth theatre operations.


Requirements:

? NMC Registration (or HCPC for ODPs)
? Minimum 1 year of experience in a Theatre Nurse role (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, or Circulating)
? Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, patient safety, and infection control
? Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and nights
? Excellent teamwork and communication skills
