Theatre Nurse – Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & More – Plymouth

Position: Theatre Nurse (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating)

Location: Plymouth

Pay Rates:

  • Weekday: £26 per hour
  • Nights & Saturdays: £32 per hour
  • Sundays & Bank Holidays: £40 per hour

Contract Length: Full-time, minimum 3 months (potential for extension)


Job Overview:

We are currently recruiting experienced Theatre Nurses to join a high-performing surgical team in Plymouth. Whether you specialise in Scrub Nursing, Anaesthetics, Post-Anaesthesia Care (Recovery), Circulating, or Surgical First Assistance, we want to hear from you! This is an exciting opportunity for theatre nurses looking to expand their skills in a fast-paced environment while making a real difference in patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

? Scrub Nurse – Work alongside surgeons, passing instruments and ensuring sterile conditions during procedures.
? Anaesthetic Nurse – Assist anaesthetists in preparing patients for surgery and monitoring them throughout the procedure.
? Recovery Nurse – Oversee post-operative care, ensuring safe and comfortable patient recovery from anaesthesia.
? Circulating Nurse – Manage the operating room environment, assisting with equipment, documentation, and ensuring smooth workflows.
? Surgical First Assistant – Provide hands-on support during surgery, assisting with retraction, suturing, and tissue handling.
? Uphold infection control protocols, safeguarding patient and staff well-being.
? Communicate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and other theatre staff to maintain an efficient and safe surgical environment.


Requirements:

? NMC Registration (or HCPC for ODPs)
? A minimum of 12 months experience in a theatre setting
? Experience in at least one of the following areas: Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating, or First Assistance
? Strong understanding of perioperative care, surgical procedures, and patient safety
? Flexibility to work shifts across days, nights, and weekends
