Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for a Band 3 Rehab Assistant to join the Intensive Rehab & Therapy Service at NELFT. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Rehabilitation Assistant to support patients within a community rehabilitation setting, delivering treatment programmes delegated by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

The role involves providing rehabilitation in patients’ own homes, with approximately six home visits per day. The successful candidate will need to be confident travelling to patients within the community and delivering delegated interventions safely and effectively in their own environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and deliver treatment and rehabilitation plans delegated by the designated Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
  • Complete approximately six patient home visits each day.
  • Provide rehabilitation interventions within patients’ own homes and community environments.
  • Work confidently and safely when treating patients in their own environment.
  • Support patients to work towards their rehabilitation goals in line with delegated treatment plans.
  • Communicate appropriately with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other members of the rehabilitation team.
  • Recognise and report relevant changes in a patient’s presentation or progress to the appropriate clinician.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with service policies and professional standards.
  • Manage travel between community appointments effectively while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Rehab Assistant who is confident working with patients in their own homes and able to follow delegated rehabilitation programmes. You will be comfortable working independently within the community while maintaining close communication with the wider Intensive Rehab & Therapy Service.

Previous NHS experience and experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant are preferred, particularly within a community or rehabilitation setting. Candidates with a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy background who are looking to gain further NHS experience may also be considered.

Requirements

  • Previous NHS experience is preferred.
  • Post-qualification experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant is preferred.
  • Community and/or rehabilitation experience is desirable.
  • Confident delivering treatment plans delegated by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
  • Confident commuting to and treating patients in their own homes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation in line with service policies and standards.
  • Car driver is preferable due to the community-based nature of the role.
  • Candidates with a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy background looking to gain NHS experience may also be considered.

  • Working Hours: Shifts, 08:30 – 16:30
  • Service Hours: The service currently operates between 08:00 and 18:00, so flexibility should be discussed with management before starting.
  • Working Pattern: The role starts in the office, with agile working when completing community visits and finishing with patients.
