Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (London Borough of Haringey)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **London Borough of Haringey Children’s Services**. This role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring children’s voices are central to all planning and decision-making.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will hold a varied caseload, including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children. You will work directly with children, young people, and families, alongside multi-agency partners, to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.
Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans tailored to children’s best interests.
Manage a caseload including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children.
Prepare and present evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.
Build strong and supportive relationships with children, young people, and their families.
Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police, and voluntary sector organisations to ensure effective multi-agency safeguarding.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case recording in line with legislation and Haringey Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision, training, and professional development to strengthen your practice.

You are a motivated and resilient social worker with a strong commitment to safeguarding children and supporting families. You can manage a diverse caseload effectively, work well with multi-agency partners, and ensure children’s needs and voices remain at the heart of your work.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Children’s Services (caseloads will be allocated to match your experience).
Strong understanding of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in multi-agency environments.
