Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (London Borough of Sutton)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **London Borough of Sutton Children’s Services team**. This role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring children’s voices are central to all planning and decision-making.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload, including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children. You will work directly with children and young people, alongside families and partner agencies, to deliver safe, effective, and child-focused interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.
Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans that put children first.
Manage a caseload that may include child in need, child protection, and looked-after children cases.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.
Work directly with children, young people, and families to build positive and supportive relationships.
Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police, and voluntary organisations to deliver coordinated multi-agency support.
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant case recording in line with legislation and Sutton Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision, training, and professional development to enhance your practice.

Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Children’s Services (caseloads matched to your level of experience).
Good knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
