Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (London Borough of Havering)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **London Borough of Havering Children’s Services team**. This role focuses on working with children, young people, and families to safeguard and promote their wellbeing, ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes through high-quality social work practice.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload that may include children in need, child protection, and looked-after children, working directly with families and in partnership with multi-agency professionals to deliver safe and effective interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.
Develop, implement, and review child-centred care and protection plans.
Manage a caseload including child in need, child protection, and looked-after children cases.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.
Build positive and trusting relationships with children, young people, and families.
Work in partnership with schools, health professionals, police, and voluntary organisations to deliver coordinated support.
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant case recording in line with legislation and Havering Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision, training, and peer learning to support your continuous professional development.

You are a motivated and resilient social worker with a passion for working with children and families. You can manage a varied caseload, balance competing priorities, and keep children’s safety and wellbeing at the centre of your practice.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Children’s Services (placements will be matched to your experience level).
Knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team.
