Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Thurrock Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **Thurrock Council Adults’ Services team**. This role is focused on supporting adults with care and support needs, carrying out statutory assessments, and delivering interventions that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a diverse caseload, ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met, and work in partnership with adults, families, carers, and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, risks, and strengths.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
Manage safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory responsibilities.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.
Prepare evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.
Work directly with adults, families, and carers to build supportive relationships and promote wellbeing.
Collaborate with health services, housing, and voluntary organisations to deliver joined-up care.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in line with legislation and Thurrock Council policies.
Engage in reflective supervision, peer learning, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
About You
You are a motivated and resilient social worker with post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are confident in safeguarding practice, able to manage complex cases, and committed to promoting independence and dignity for the people you support.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively.
