Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Nottingham City Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **Nottingham City Council Adults’ Services team**. In this role, you will work with adults who have care and support needs, carrying out assessments, managing safeguarding enquiries, and ensuring person-centred interventions that promote independence and wellbeing.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload, provide professional expertise, and work collaboratively with individuals, carers, and multi-agency partners to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
Manage safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory responsibilities.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and support best-interest decision-making.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.
Work directly with adults, families, and carers to promote independence and wellbeing.
Collaborate with health professionals, housing, and voluntary organisations to provide integrated support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with legislation and council policy.
Take part in reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service development.
About You
You are a motivated and resilient social worker with post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are confident in assessment and safeguarding practice, skilled at managing complex cases, and committed to ensuring service users are at the heart of your work.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience working within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.
