Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (London Borough of Lambeth)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **London Borough of Lambeth’s Children’s Services team**. This role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice that promotes safety, wellbeing, and long-term stability.

You will manage a varied caseload, carry out statutory assessments, and work in partnership with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.

Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans tailored to individual children and families.

Manage safeguarding and child protection cases in line with statutory requirements.

Prepare and present evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.

Work directly with children, families, and carers to build positive and trusting relationships.

Collaborate with schools, health professionals, police, and voluntary sector organisations to ensure joined-up support.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with legislation and council policies.

Participate in reflective supervision, peer learning, and service development activities.

About You

You are a motivated and resilient social worker with post-qualification experience in children’s services. You are confident in managing complex safeguarding cases, working with multi-agency partners, and making a lasting difference to children and families.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Experience in Children’s Services, including safeguarding and child protection.

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively.
