Experienced Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Nottingham City Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting an **Experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Nottingham City Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred care to adults with a range of needs, including those requiring safeguarding interventions, support under the Care Act, and assessments under the Mental Capacity Act.
As an experienced social worker, you will handle complex cases, contribute to service development, and work collaboratively with individuals, families, and partner agencies to ensure positive and sustainable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
Manage complex safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory guidance.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.
Work closely with health professionals, housing services, voluntary organisations, and other community partners.
Promote independence and wellbeing while ensuring individuals are safeguarded.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with legislation and council policies.
Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service development.
About You
You are a confident and resilient social worker with proven post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are skilled in safeguarding practice, case management, and collaborative working to deliver the best outcomes for adults and their families.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Substantial post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Proven ability to manage complex cases effectively.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
