Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Hull City Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Hull City Council’s Adults’ Services team**. In this role, you will provide high-quality support to adults with a range of care and support needs, helping them to live safely, independently, and with dignity.

You will carry out statutory assessments, manage complex caseloads, and work with individuals, families, and partner agencies to deliver effective, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, risks, and strengths.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.

Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management procedures.

Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court when required.

Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary sector, and community organisations to deliver joined-up care.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with council policy and professional standards.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and service development.

About You

You are a compassionate and resilient social worker with strong skills in safeguarding and case management. You can confidently manage complex caseloads, make sound professional decisions, and build effective relationships with adults and their families.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding procedures.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining person-centred practice.
