Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on delivering high-quality support to adults with a variety of care and support needs, ensuring their safety, independence, and wellbeing.

You will manage complex caseloads, complete statutory assessments, and work in partnership with individuals, carers, and external agencies to deliver safe and person-centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans in partnership with adults and carers.

Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure effective risk management.

Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.

Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.

Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing, voluntary sector, and community organisations to deliver integrated care.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with professional standards and council policies.

Contribute to reflective supervision, team learning, and service development.

About You

You are a compassionate and resilient social worker with strong skills in safeguarding, assessment, and partnership working. You can balance complex caseloads while maintaining a focus on person-centred practice and high-quality outcomes for adults.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage competing demands while maintaining best practice.
