This role focuses on supporting children, young people, and families through high-quality statutory social work interventions. You will play a vital part in safeguarding children, promoting their well-being, and supporting them to achieve stability and positive long-term outcomes, within a vibrant and diverse urban community.

  • Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children assessments.

  • Develop, implement, and review child-centred care plans that promote safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

  • Work in close partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to deliver coordinated and outcome-focused support.

  • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and represent the local authority in court proceedings, child protection conferences, and statutory reviews.

  • Maintain regular visits and oversight of children in care to monitor placement quality and ensure their voice is central to all planning.

  • Keep accurate, timely, and reflective case records in line with Bristol City Council’s practice expectations and statutory requirements.
