Southampton City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Qualified Social Worker to join their Children in Need (CIN) team for an initial 3-month contract. The role focuses on delivering high-quality statutory social work to children and families in need of support and protection.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children and families under CIN, Child Protection, and pre-proceedings
Undertake timely assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
Conduct statutory visits, core group meetings, and reviews
Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions
Prepare clear and concise reports for conferences, panels, and legal proceedings
Ensure all casework complies with relevant legislation, policy, and best practice standards
Requirements:
SWE registration
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in children’s statutory services
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, assessment frameworks, and child development
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
