Wirral Council is seeking an experienced Locum Qualified Social Worker to join their [Children’s/Adults/Mental Health/other] Social Care team. The role involves working with vulnerable individuals and families to assess needs, manage risk, and support positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct statutory assessments and develop care/support plans in line with legislation and local policies.
Undertake safeguarding enquiries and contribute to protection plans where necessary.
Work closely with multi-agency partners including health, education, and voluntary sector.
Attend relevant meetings such as Child Protection Conferences, Court Hearings, or Care Reviews.
Maintain accurate and timely records on the council’s case management system.
Participate in supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development.
Requirements:
Social Work England (SWE) registration.
Right to work in the UK.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in statutory social work, preferably within the specified team.
