Surrey County Council is recruiting an experienced Locum Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This critical frontline role involves screening and triaging safeguarding concerns for children, ensuring timely and proportionate responses in a high-paced, multi-agency environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection and excellent decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and assess referrals from professionals, agencies, and the public regarding concerns for children’s safety and wellbeing.

  • Analyse information and make informed decisions about thresholds and the next steps, including Section 17 or 47 assessments.

  • Collaborate closely with professionals from health, education, police, and other key partners in a multi-agency setting.

  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation of all decisions and actions in line with Surrey County Council policies and statutory guidance.

  • Contribute to the development of safeguarding strategies and promote best practice.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to child safeguarding.
