Surrey County Council is recruiting an experienced Locum Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This critical frontline role involves screening and triaging safeguarding concerns for children, ensuring timely and proportionate responses in a high-paced, multi-agency environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection and excellent decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and assess referrals from professionals, agencies, and the public regarding concerns for children’s safety and wellbeing.
Analyse information and make informed decisions about thresholds and the next steps, including Section 17 or 47 assessments.
Collaborate closely with professionals from health, education, police, and other key partners in a multi-agency setting.
Ensure accurate, timely documentation of all decisions and actions in line with Surrey County Council policies and statutory guidance.
Contribute to the development of safeguarding strategies and promote best practice.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to child safeguarding.
