Leeds City Council is recruiting a dedicated and experienced Locum Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Child Protection (CP) Team. This role involves working with children and families to manage risk, safeguard welfare, and promote long-term positive change. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in statutory child protection and strong assessment, planning, and court skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Hold and manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care proceedings.
Undertake Section 47 enquiries, risk assessments, and contribute to child protection conferences and reviews.
Develop and implement robust, child-focused care and safety plans.
Work collaboratively with families, legal teams, and partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding interventions.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and statements for court and attend hearings as required.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with Leeds City Council’s policies and statutory requirements.
