Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking an experienced Locum Child Protection Conference Chair to provide strong, independent leadership in safeguarding children across the city. This interim role requires a confident and skilled Qualified Social Worker with a proven track record in chairing statutory child protection conferences and promoting high-quality, child-focused multi-agency decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Chair statutory child protection conferences: Lead initial and review conferences in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance and local procedures.
Provide independent oversight: Offer professional challenge to ensure that assessments, plans, and interventions are timely, effective, and proportionate.
Ensure child-centred planning: Champion the voice of the child and ensure their experiences are central to safeguarding and planning discussions.
Support audit and improvement work: Contribute to case audits, service reviews, and continuous improvement in partnership with internal teams and external agencies.
