As a Locum Assessment Qualified Social Worker with Wigan Council, you will play a crucial role in carrying out assessments of children and families to identify needs, risks, and strengths. You will work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure timely and effective interventions that promote child welfare and safeguard vulnerable children.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive statutory assessments of children and families, focusing on safeguarding and promoting welfare.
Develop clear, outcome-focused intervention plans in collaboration with families and professionals.
Work effectively with partner agencies, including schools, health services, and police, to coordinate support.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure all documentation meets legal and council standards.
Participate actively in supervision, team meetings, and training to ensure professional development and compliance.
