Surrey County Council is seeking an experienced and compassionate Locum Social Worker to join the Adult Safeguarding and Community Team. This role focuses on protecting vulnerable adults, including those with physical disabilities, mental health needs, and older adults, through thorough safeguarding investigations and community-based support. The successful candidate will conduct assessments, manage safeguarding enquiries, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote independence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 to protect adults at risk.
Conduct person-centred assessments and reviews within the community to identify support needs and develop care plans.
Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to assess capacity and support best interest decisions.
Collaborate closely with health services, housing, voluntary sector partners, and families to coordinate care and support.
Maintain accurate, detailed records and reports in compliance with Surrey County Council’s policies and statutory requirements.
