Croydon Council is seeking a dedicated and child-focused Social Worker to join its Children in Care (CiC) Team. This vital role supports children and young people who are looked after, ensuring their safety, stability, and emotional wellbeing while promoting permanence and positive outcomes. The successful candidate will be skilled in building relationships with young people and advocating for their needs within care planning and multi-agency frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of looked-after children, conducting regular statutory visits and ensuring all care planning is timely and effective.
Prepare and review care plans in line with the Children Act 1989, working closely with IROs, carers, and partner agencies.
Support children through transitions, including placements, education, and preparation for independence or permanence.
Write clear, evidence-based reports for Looked After Reviews, court proceedings, and placement panels.
