Bolton Council is seeking a compassionate and experienced Looked After Children (LAC) Social Worker to join the Children’s Social Care team. The successful candidate will work with children and young people in care, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and progression towards permanence through robust care planning and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of looked after children, developing and reviewing care plans that meet statutory requirements and promote positive outcomes.
Work closely with children, foster carers, birth families, and multi-agency partners to support children’s emotional, educational, and social development.
Prepare reports for statutory reviews, court proceedings, and permanency planning panels.
Ensure compliance with legal frameworks such as the Children Act 1989 and Children and Families Act 2014.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
