Argyll and Bute Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Locum Social Worker to join the Adult Services team, working with individuals aged 16+ who require care and support under the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. This role involves travel across rural and island communities, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in a diverse geographic area.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake assessments, care planning, and reviews for adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health issues, or age-related needs.
Lead Adult Support and Protection (ASP) investigations and implement safeguarding plans in line with legislation.
Collaborate with health professionals, community services, and families to deliver person-centred care and promote independence.
Contribute to hospital discharge planning and transitions from institutional to community-based care.
Maintain clear, concise case notes and ensure compliance with statutory and council recording requirements.
